This probably honestly describes how so many of us feel. We are allowing the racist to color our emotions, lives, and feelings, Every part of our being forgetting who we really are and who’s grace we are under because of the things that are happening in the world today. A normal human reaction but we can’t be normal and that’s the hard part for us to rise above it all and remember Jesus loves them too. We just have to realize that with the remembering comes the duty to make a difference in the midst of the craziness and love. Because just saying I love them too doesn’t guarantee a solution. A solution with love in the forefront……..

Thank you for your comment. I completely agree … this is the part of following Christ that pulls on our inability to live like Christ in our own strength … His grace is available to help and His wisdom to give us strategies for solution but it’s the hard work of one heart at a time … our own included.

Breakthrough commentary! “And they’ll know we are Christians by our Love”. His grace is sufficient to get us past the hurt and anger, to a point of loving even that one who caused the hurt. But I’ve learned to study my reactions and change my desire to defend, protect, to stand down and let Jesus handle what I think us the threat, and what is actually a threat. Not easy when it’s a real threat, amazingly easy when threat is all in my mind.

How true Lorraine … it’s’ an area of growth for us all … to respond rather than react… and then to respond being hemmed in by the Holy Spirit.
